September 2008 Summary

Church Council met on September 14th. We went over final draft of budget. Handouts of budget will be ready for distribution on Sunday, September 21st. We will vote on this budget on Sunday, October 5th at 9 am. Youth Minister search is going well. We will be working on a benefits package for this position. The work on the upstairs Children’s rooms is almost complete. When everything is finished, we will have 2 very nice rooms and a hallway instead of 1 large room. Work on our Annual Church Profile is being gathered. When complete, we will share highlights with congregation. We are looking at the need to get more people involved in our HUGS ministry which consists of greeters, ushers, safety, etc. Another area of concern is how to make new members aware of what we have to offer and also how they can get involved. We are exploring a couple of options in that area. We did calendaring for November and December. We plan to meet again on October 12th. We again ask for the prayers of our church family as we try to follow God’s directions for our church.
