January 2009 Summary

David opened with prayer. We briefly discussed Darrell’s move to Evangelism team leader. He will no longer serve on CC as his position will come under Tony’s Missions ministry area. Darrell is very excited about this and we all see it in a positive light.

David plans to begin having monthly staff meetings with Michael, Kim and Jesse.

David shared with us that God has been dealing with him over the past few months about the strategic message He has for our church.David said that again and again 3 words kept coming to him: rescue, equip, and send. He said God did not give him all the answers which made him think of Moses. God also did not give Moses everything in advance, but he assured Moses that He would be with him. We must be obedient in all areas as well.

We spent time talking about who God is sending to us and how we can minister to them in all 3 of these areas. We looked at “service slots”. Are we using them effectively? We talked about  children’s curriculum and how as a council we can be more supportive of Kim in her role. We are a team and it is our goal to work together to do what God wants us to do.

We did a lot of calendaring. February 1st will be a Super Bowl party and February 15th we will begin an exciting curriculum of Discipleship classes on Sunday nights. Details of other events will be shared at later dates. Our next meeting is scheduled for February 15th.
