February 2009 Summary

Church Council met on Sunday February 1st. The main purpose was to discuss an area wide Marriage Conference to be held at North Spartanburg 1st Baptist Church on August 14th and 15th. There will be well known speakers and singers. This really fits with our vision of rescuing and equipping people. We will need to precommit for a certain number to ensure we will be able to attend. We decided to secure spots for 20 couples. The cost will be $99 per couple. We will be given promotional materials as well. We also discussed painting some other areas in the church that are in need of updating. Michael shared with us about a conference he attended recently. He is also working and praying about a program that would involve willing volunteers of our church to invest in the lives of teenagers in different ways. We will hear more about this in the future. We will meet again on Sunday March 8th.
