Crossroads Baptist Church of Spartanburg

A Word from our Pastor: 06.15.09

Our Vacation Bible School last week was a huge success! We had great attendance. One of the things that is always encouraging is the number of adults who work in our VBS. This year was no exception! Special thanks to our children’s minister, Kim Ridings for her hard work.

We had a number of children who either made first-time decisions to follow Jesus Christ or indicated an interest in discussing it. You will hear more about these decisions in the next few weeks. Please continue to pray for these children and their families.

This Friday morning, June 19 our Nicaraguan mission team will be leaving. We will return home on Saturday, June 27. Our plan is to share about this trip on Sunday, June 28. Please pray for us to have safe travel, to stay healthy, and for the Lord to do His work in us and through us.

Another mission team will be leaving for Chicago on Friday, July 3. Michael Evans will be leading this team. They will be working on a World Changers project. This group will return on Sunday evening, July 12. Our plan is for them to share about their work in Chicago during our worship service on July 19. Please pray for their safe travel, and for God to also do a work in them and through them.

God is good! Let’s continue to seek to honor Him!

Yours for the Kingdom,
David Swofford
