Child Dedication

Child dedication is when parents publicly commit, before the church, to raise their children in the ways of the Lord. It is also committing to trust the Lord and His plans for your child's life. Lastly, it is also the church agreeing with you, the parents, to help you keep the commitments you have made. This practice is rooted in Deuteronomy 6:4-7 which teaches us to love the Lord our God with all of our hearts, souls, and might and that you should diligently teach your children to do the same. It also follows the biblical example of Hannah who after praying for a child for so long, dedicates her baby Samuel, to the Lord (1 Samuel 1:26-28).
